The Rolex ref1831 is not only one of the rarest references ever made by the factory in Geneva (manufactured, to be precise) but also the King of Rolex Day-Dates. The OysterQuartz-like case made of platinum is by design the more durable, more universal approach than the regular "round" Oyster case, simply because it adds masculine edges to the overall round dial -- generally a successful mixture -- and clear edges generally work more universal than rounded shapes.
The handful of pieces are connected to the perfectly fitting Rolex King Midas-Bracelet speaking the same design language as the case: taking the angled edges on both sides of the case further down the bracelet: Perfect. The most beautiful Day-Date ever, the King as Edmond Saran called it here.
