Ad 2024-09-06: If you haven't get the point so far -- the message of watch-brands asking for state aid is an extremely seasoned, spicy message. Pointed: You produce luxury goods -- ie. something that by definition no one needs --, create a demand for these un-necessary goods by marketing (ie. making / creating a market), answer this demand with insufficient supply (--> waitinglist), to hide the fact that your expensive luxury product is basically a mass-product produced relatively cheap (and in masses ;-)). Yes, and when the demand decreases then you ask for the government to step in to socialize your costs.
Needless to point out, ie. trivial that the gains that appeared before are nothing that was equally shared to society -- these were private, of course.
