Cuckoo-Clock++: Junghans Astro-Chron

The cuckoo-clock is a classic from the Schwarzwald in south-west Germany. Junghans (Schramberg, Germany) presented the more precise and timeless living-room clock Astro-Chron in 1967. The expensive (DEM785) and clear-designed icon houses the Junghans calW610, an Ato-Mat-like balance-wheel driven movement, regulated by a quartz in a glass-tube vibrating at 12'800Hz.

A beautiful clear and decorative clock on the front and when the lid is opened a very ordered movement is visible. Right after the oscillator-circuitboard the discrete flip-flops that divide the quartz-frequency ten times by two are visible. Yes, and the resulting 12.5Hz are moving the hands: sweeeping.

Clear and precise inside out and a timeless decoration with a industry-historical aspect today and in future.
