Horological Milestone: Early Quartz GP cal350 FullSet

Girard Perregaux 1972 Horological Milestone: Caliber 350, Early Quartz, FullSet

Sold

WHY WE LOVE IT: Because it was one of the first (literally!) quartz-watches beating at the now standard-rate of 32kHz -- #horologicalMilestone.

The Motorola-made IC was produced in March 1972 and the watch was sold in June 1972 in Zurich as the original invoice by Kofmehl Jewelers, Zurich and the filled original GP guarantee card document -- one of the earliest cal350 we know and a FullSet. As you probably know just some dozens of the initial cal350 were made and early in 1972 the upgraded calibers 351 and especially 352 and in 1973 the cal353 were produced.

To find a early cal350 is not complicated -- its is the needle in the haystack. And here is the needle.
