This IWC Da Vinci Quartz Electronic houses a legendary Beta21 movement -- the first quartz movement for a wrist watch developed by a consortium of 20 Swiss companies: from Bulova and Omega to Rolex and Patek.
This is the first DaVinci in the legendary IWC series. It is extremely rare in 18K white gold - according to our research, 75 pieces were made of the yellow gold (!) example of this milestone and far less were produced in white gold as offered here. Now, this was made in low quantities back then but that didnt prevent these heavy icons from being smelted: it is not a Patek nor a Rolex, which simply is not brought to the smelter, or very rarely. An IWC is smelted more often and this reduces the number of existing examples significantly making a rare watch even rarer.
Yes, all that is nice. But this timepiece is also New Old Stock. It was never used and has no signs of use or polishing. The dial is in perfect condition, without oxidation or scratches. The original sticker is still left on the case back. The bracelet is without stretch, warp or any adjustments. The clasp as well. On top of all that: next to the watch the original box and filled guarantee card from 1975 is included. Unique!
The watch is in its form a classic and significant on the wrist and the sweep second of the Beta movement looks simply beautiful. The IWC Beta 21 is in no aspect inferior to the top dog equivalents made by Rolex or Patek -- high quality historical relevance, significant size and iconic and unmistakable design.
