The Most Beautiful Atmos: Luigi Colani
Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Moderne: Luigi Colani, 1974
- Time (Hour, Minute)
A warm-tone chimney substitute made in 1974 by Jaeger LeCoultre and designed by the internationally celebrated German designer Luigi Colani (1928 - 2019): The Atmos Moderne.
The Luigi Colani-Atmos was produced in 1974 & 1975 in small numbers and was quickly sold out. Today it is therefore a sought-after collector's item and probably the most beautiful Atmos of all time, which even after almost 50 years still adorns every room and is a permanent eye-catcher with its timeless appearance and the smoothly rotating pendulum. The caliber 528 is driven by the slightest temperature fluctuations and thus keeps the pendulum in motion forever as a "perpetual motion machine".
This example of reference 5291 is dated February 1974 and is thus one of the first of this series. It comes in almost flawless condition and has developed a very fine patina on the gold-plated brass case in the last almost 50 years -- just beautiful. The full set is offered with its original 5291-marked box, the guarantee card and JLC archive paper.
Why we think this Colani Atmos is not only the most decorative one -- here in the warm tone version with golden case --, but also the most beautiful Atmos, is written in one of our latest blog posts.
