Rare Jade-Green Solar Desk-Clock, Faceted Glass
Patek Philippe "Jade" Desk-Clock: Solar, Faceted Glass, Rare
WHY WE LOVE IT: A clock for the sun-desk from a time when this electric solution was on the cutting-edge of technology and so rare that you probably never saw this Patek Solar-Clock before.
Sparkling faceted glass, shiny golden case, noble & naturalistic jade-green dial. Lavish engraved gold front & golden side panels with green inlays. On top of the dial: elevated golden roman numerals and ornate engraved hands. Overall a very empire-inspired design.
The case measures 220mm * 170mm * 90mm and has a gilt back hinged door. Signed. Probably the rarest configuration of the Patek ref809 and with number 2XX dated to the late 1950s (approximately) and so one of the earliest of these back-then modern clocks. A green monolith for the desk, with the solar-powered winding of the mechanical movement and a battery-buffer to run "forever".
Overall excellent condition. No significant signs of time or use. No dents in the gilded brass-case. No scratches or cracks in the glass.
