Rare FullSet: 1st Series Rolex King Midas

Rolex King Midas: Rare 1st Series in FullSet

WHY WE LOVE IT: A whitegold Fullset-1971-Rolex in excellent condition -- probably unique nowadays. And because we know: the Rolex Midas comes in higher quality than a Daytona or any other Rolex of the same era.

FullSet Rolex King Midas (Whitegold) sold Sep-1971: Yes, you heard that box and papers are not so important. And this might be true with your commodity-Rolex. But its different with a Rolex Midas. Of course it is the relevant 1st series, when Midas was a standalone-series in the Rolex offerings next to Oyster or Cellini: Consisting of ref9630 King Midas (weight: 200g), ref9903 Princess Midas (weight: 200g) and ref9904 Queen Midas (weight: 150g). Just in 1973 it was integrated into Cellini and then not only the weight was reduced significantly but also the quality decayed over the years.

Of course the watch is unpolished and it is even unworn, eventually as the condition suggests -- no stretch and no significant signs of use or wear, just some micro-scratches from storing and handling. Fresh and unknown to the market.

FullSet: Watch, original guarantee paper and original box (outer cardboard box, urn-box and all three inlay-parts).

Between 1962 and 1972 Rolex manufactured 144 King Midas in whitegold and in this condition and set it is probably a unique Rolex, nowadays. The Rolex to be gifted: Elvis Presley for sold out shows; John Wayne for a blockbuster; Sir Jackie Stewart for the 1969 F1-Championship; Rene-Paul Jeanneret for being Hans Wilsdorf right-hand; and many more: every Rolex Midas tells a in depth-story by itself;
