Two Tone Dial 1958 VC Automatic P498
Vacheron Constantin 1958 Two Tone Dial Calatrava, 1st Rotor Automatic P498
- Time (Hour, Minute, Small Second)
This is a beautiful and obviously original condition Vacheron made in 1958.
The clou is not the original appearing two tone dial with applied indexes but the engine below: the first rotor automatic movement used by VC -- the caliber P498 that was produced in small quantities from 1954 onwards.
This example is working just fine after a full service. For sure just a handful of these reference exists in a similar original and beautiful condition.
The dark spots below the applications on the dial are just oxydations that took place over the last 62 years. Nothing to worry about and instead something that makes it a dignified aged vintage watch. Its size of 35mm and its clear dial and the faceted case make it an astonishing appearance that is further elevated by the custom made strap we put between the beautiful Cedex, Geneva made case and the 18K buckle.
