Rare Onyx Dial Tank

This is an outstanding classic Vacheron, tank style and Onyx dial with an interesting folding clasp -- set with Maltese Cross in yellow gold on top of an Onyx cabochon in oval shaped deployant clasp. And in the center of the cross, there is a small diamond for final accentuation. As much art in the buckle as in the watch case. The unique clasp is connected to the well preserved case by the original black VC signed alligator leather strap.

This watch used to be a men size model back in the time it was made: 1979 according to the Extract from the VC Archive. The thin and small size is a prove how small a reliable caliber could be manufactured by VC: the legendary manual cal1003 that set standards since its presentation in the mid 1950s and is a reliable companion even today.
