Years before C++ changed standards in computer-programming all the way and sustainable, Seiko changed standards in watch-movement-accuracy 1978 by using a second temperature-sensitive quartz to eliminate the most disturbing factor of vibration-accuracy in quartz-crystals: temperature. Result was the Dual-Quartz cal9983 Superior or VFA++ beating at the standard rate of 32'768Hz but being precise to 5 seconds per year (!sic) or less. Oha! A value that wasn't beaten until today and that sets the standard until today like C++ -- VFA++.
