Hodinkee is never the fastest, sure but here they took on early on the Piaget-Trend with a nice to-read article. And so not much new inside for you and me that goes beyond what this blog said some time ago, but it is always nice to read from a much louder voice in the industry. Well done, Hodinkee.

And while pointing out the variety and most (!) of the reasons why they were the best, second to none in the 70s and 80s, I am not so convinced Piaget can come into a similar position today. Sure, we like the brand and promoted it like not many others -- but I see some structural and systemically obstacles that would prevent it to go into such a prime-position again.

Which, you ask and we answer -- just not today.
