Record-Thin Tank Normale: cal20P

Piaget UltraThin Tank: Record 1.2mm, Curved

CHF 4,500

WHY WE LOVE IT: Because it is the thinnest mechanical tank ever made -- a #horologicalMilestone.

While Cartier has the Tank Normale it was Piaget that excelled with the Tank Thin-Speziale: Possible with the cal20P that was used exclusively by Piaget in the early 1980s and that set a record for decades, with a height of just 1.2mm.

The thinnest manual-winding movement for several decades and lately just topped by the RM-UP01 and the Piaget Altiplano Ultra -- by tenth of a millimeter.

The curved case was made by Ponti Gennari (Piaget) and fantastically hugs the wrist.
