Piaget Beta 21, Tiger Eye Dial, Rare
Piaget Yellow Gold Beta 21, Tiger Eye Dial
- Time (Hour, Minute)
Very massive and rare 18K yellow gold rectangular Piaget housing a Beta 21 movement with a beautiful brown tiger eye dial on top.
Very nice condition and impressive timepiece. The lively tiger eye stone is flawless and light reactive. Overall, the stone is very interesting and significantly structured with a strong presence and a overwhelming 50 shades of brown, that is rarely seen in this intensity. The clou: this one has no minute track or hour markers printed, like many others and so the stone is able to present all its intensity. Inside works the first generation Beta21 movement Piaget XP4, that not only works precise but also has still the original electronic module with the hexagonal trimmer and the hand-carved quartz stone in the aluminum capsule that is making the beat. The three-stepped case appears to be unpolished, although not unworn and has developed a significant and characteristic patina.
The Piaget ref14101 is one the most interesting Beta21: It is as big as it has to be to house the rectangular Beta21 movement but not bigger -- that makes it beautiful and wearable. It lacks a second-hand and comes without date window. All other companies participating in the CEH project used proudly a second-hand to show the precision that was achieved with the first quartz movement, just Piaget simply made it a dress watch version -- chuzpe.
We created a custom brown alligator leather strap that suits this exciting timepiece like a perfect match and connects it to the original solid gold Piaget buckle. Fantastic!
